HIGHER EDUCATION AND ITS ENVIRONMENT IN MANIPUR

Abstract:
Many thinkers accept that Education is the learning centre or institute to bring up the students to be an ideal person .Education is what we want ? So teachers should be the construction of knowledge and co-learners of knowledge. Teachers take a great important role to make good society . Their important task is to make students to be an ideal person. So ,teacher is the soul or vital principle of educational system and no scheme of education can succeed without a competent body of teachers . The most genuine object of true education is the development of man as a human being with his own exigencies and sympathy with all other members of the human race. This is the bases which international society should develop . After independence many commission established with good suggestions by many educationist and recommended by the Central government but still now India cannot be included in the high literacy rate in the world . It might be having some deficiencies in the education sector of India . As Manipur also one of the seven sisters of North-East India ,the education of Manipur lies in the underdeveloped stage . The cause might be the negligence of both the State and the Central Government in the education sector . As education is the only means to develop human resources there is necessary to reform in the education system . The present education system is needy to modify both in the curriculum and the teaching methodology. The implementation and infrastructure is very low and insufficient . Hence, it is necessary to reform the education system of Manipur.
